Using the site
- The tools, printables and guides are free for personal and small-scale craft use, including things you make to sell at a fair or in a small shop.
- You may print the printables as often as you like, for yourself, for a class you teach or for your craft group.
- Please don't sell our printables, republish our guides, or copy the tools and present them as your own. If a friend would find something useful, send them the link rather than the file.
- Please don't attempt to disrupt the site or scrape it at abusive rates.
Accuracy, and its limits
We take real care over the figures here, and we check the arithmetic. Even so, every result is guidance rather than a guarantee. On-screen measuring depends on your calibration and your browser zoom; printed charts depend on your printer not rescaling the page; craft calculations depend on gauge, materials and technique that vary from person to person.
For anything expensive or irreversible — cutting fabric, ordering yarn for a large project, buying gemstone beads by the strand — do check an important figure a second way before committing. We can't accept liability for materials bought or cut on the basis of a result from this site.
Availability
We aim to keep the site running and correct at all times, but we can't promise uninterrupted service or that everything is free of error. If you spot a mistake, please tell us — corrections are genuinely welcome.

The design, code, illustrations, printables and written guides on this site belong to The Craft Desk unless otherwise noted. The underlying craft standards — needle sizes, yarn weights, fabric counts and so on — are public information; what these terms protect is our presentation of them.
