Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information The Craft Desk collects when you visit thecraftdesk.com, and how it is used. The short version: the tools themselves collect nothing at all — your measurements and calculations never leave your device. The only data involved comes from ordinary website analytics, advertising or affiliate partners, and the email address you give us if you choose to.
What the tools do not collect
- Your measurements, gauge, project details and calculations are worked out entirely inside your own browser and are never sent to us or anyone else.
- Your screen calibration setting is saved in your browser's local storage so you don't have to repeat it. It stays on your device, and clearing your browser data or pressing "Start again" removes it.
- There is no account to create, nothing to upload, and no photographs of your hands, your work or your home are requested at any point.
Email sign-ups
If you give us your email address in exchange for the printables, we store that address so we can occasionally write to you about new tools and guides. We do not sell, rent or share it with anyone. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time by writing to us — we'll do it without asking why.
Analytics
We use standard web analytics to understand how many people visit, which pages they find useful and roughly which country they visit from. This information is aggregated and does not identify you personally. Analytics providers may use cookies or similar technologies to distinguish one visit from another.
Affiliate links and advertising
Some links on this site are affiliate links, mostly to Amazon. If you follow one and buy something, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Following such a link takes you to that retailer's own website, where their privacy policy applies rather than ours — they will typically set a cookie to record that you arrived from here.
Where advertising is shown, third-party vendors including Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising through Google Ads Settings or via www.aboutads.info. Depending on where you live, you may be shown a consent message before any personalised advertising appears, and you can change that choice at any time.
Log data
As with nearly every website, our hosting and content delivery providers automatically record basic technical logs — IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps — for security and performance. This is a general-audience craft site and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this policy from time to time; the date at the top shows when it last changed. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
